Price and Quality of Chalk Paint and Painting Tools

Differences in the price and quality of chalk paints

A tiresome topic pops up on social media from time to time: I like MissPompadour's paints so much, but they're too expensive. And yes, it's true, MissPompadour Paints really are one of the premium brands of water-based paints. With our own brands MissPompadour, CosyColours and LittlePomp, we not only have beautiful paints and varnishes, but also absolutely high-quality ones. You might be wondering if you could go one size smaller. And we say quite emphatically: it couldn't!

Why price and quality are so important in chalk paints and accessories!

Can't all this perhaps be done a little more cheaply? It's not that easy, because there are veritable designers at work here, working with nuances of pigments to achieve all this colour sophistication. Besides, painting is not only about beauty, but also about ease of use and sustainability

You certainly want a paint that just works. It must be easy to apply and cover perfectly. It should not spill or drip when applied and should not form "noses" when varnished. Then it should hold well, be lightfast and, best of all, washable. In addition, neither wall paint nor varnish should have an unpleasant smell when applied and in no case should they contain toxic substances.

That is why all wall paints and varnishes from MissPompadour and LittlePomp are water-based. The volatile organic compounds that are released into the environment when the paint dries are extremely low. So low, in fact, that our manufacturers' varnishes are even suitable for painting children's toys with. What good is the most beautiful paint on the wall or on a piece of furniture if you have to breathe in toxic fumes during painting and for weeks afterwards?
All these criteria are fulfilled by the high-quality paints from MissPompadour Paint. The basis of these paints is a sophisticated technology that is particularly sustainable and gentle on the environment. All the binders used for MissPompadour Paints are obtained from biological substances that are produced during the manufacture of sunflower or olive oil. These substances wax again during the life of a paint. In this way, it has been possible to produce a chemical product like paint in an environmentally friendly way.

But of course it is also about beauty: you always achieve an incredibly attractive result with MissPompadour Paints. The tiniest particles in the paint are deposited on the surface and cause them to reflect the light in a unique way. Depending on the incidence of light, the colours may shine in completely different ways and thus appear extremely lively.
By the way, MissPompadour Paints are not produced in Asia. All ingredients are produced exclusively in Germany and Europe. That is why we have short shipping routes.
But the yield of MissPompadour Paints is also enormous. Ten square metres can be painted at once with a 750 ml can of Matt Varnish. 2. 5 litres of wall paint are enough to cover 30 square metres of wall. The fact that the paints are very resistant to dirt and wear is also an important quality feature. By the way, our high-quality paints are easy to apply, even for non-professionals.

I could go on for a while, but as you can see: you can really expect the highest standards from MissPompadour Paints. And unfortunately, it's like everywhere else: you can't get great quality for little money anywhere.
Perhaps I should also mention that MissPompadour really does offer active advice through all channels. You can reach our friendly and competent customer service almost around the clock by email, WhatsApp, Facebook and by phone. We are happy to create an individual colour concept for you and offer any technical assistance.

Unfortunately, DIY paint made in China is often disappointing

I hope you understand that all of this has to come at a price (by the way, paint made in China is often only slightly cheaper). When I see in the MissPompadour DIY group how our creative group members make a bathroom shine in completely new splendour for 200 € of paint, I do wonder what it would have cost to tear out all the tiles. I'm also sure that a new kitchen is a lot more expensive than sprucing up the old fronts with an attractive colour. I'm sure you know it yourself. If you want to get down to work, let your creativity run wild and achieve great results, then you simply need decent materials to go with it. So, if you save on price and quality when it comes to colours and accessories, you are definitely saving at the wrong end..
