To Mask 30mm - MissPompadour washi tape
DIY fans and anyone who enjoys crafting may already be familiar with it: washi tape originally comes from Japan and is a thin strip of rice paper that is coated with adhesive on one side. Incidentally, the name rice paper has nothing to do with rice, but is derived from the colour that the paper originally had. Washi tape ribbons are often colourfully printed and are used for greeting cards, children's birthdays, gift wrapping and many other occasions where creativity is required.
Originally, however, it was developed as masking tape for varnishing - and it is phenomenally well suited to this use!
The pink MissPompadour washi tape is 30mm wide and there are 50m on each roll. It is UV-resistant for up to 14 days and can be removed without leaving any residue for up to 90 days. It can also withstand temperatures of up to 100 degrees. Incidentally, we source it directly from Japan, as the original is only available there.
The biggest advantage of our MissPompadour washi tape is that it is very fine and ensures particularly precise edges when varnishing. Because it is much thinner than normal adhesive tape, it is also much more flexible and therefore seals better. This makes for sharper edges and enables very precise masking.
How is washi tape used?
Using washi tape is no different from using conventional adhesive tape. Tape surfaces that are to be painted precisely. Washi tape can be moved and repositioned if necessary. You can then paint.
How to remove the washi tape after painting
This adhesive tape adheres very easily and can therefore be removed from all surfaces without any problems. And it can be removed without leaving any residue. You can even remove washi tape from paper without destroying the surface.
One advantage of washi tape over conventional adhesive tape is that you can peel it off even if the varnish has already dried. This means you can easily interrupt your work without having to mask again. If you have painted several layers, carefully remove the layers with a cutter before peeling off the tape.
