Paint instead of throwing away
Do you still have old furniture that no longer looks good in your home? Don't throw them away - old wooden furniture in particular is usually still too good to say goodbye to. Just paint them instead! This way, you not only avoid producing new waste, but also give old furniture a new lease of life.
What we're doing in practice
- Reducing our CO2 footprint. When it comes to our products, we focus on short delivery routes and carefully selected manufacturing processes. We also constantly look for ways to improve the production and delivery of our existing range. We already aim to manufacture all of our products in Germany and neighbouring countries, avoiding long transport routes from overseas. Plus, compared to buying new furniture, painting is often the easiest way to spruce up your home. After all, manufacturing new furniture produces CO2, as does the disposal of old pieces.
- Going plastic-free wherever possible.
If you look around our shop, you might still spot the odd plastic product here and there. We are constantly working to phase out plastics from our range entirely — provided we can find better alternatives that perform just as well and have a lower carbon footprint. That is why we dedicate our time to research, seeking out eco-conscious manufacturers who share our values and vision for the future. For every kilo of plastic we sell, we offset it through our partnership with Everwave, helping to clear plastic waste from our rivers. - Using our own green energy. Our office runs on solar energy from panels on our roof. We plan to roll this out to our logistics warehouse, too. The production site for our MissPompadour paints uses thermal energy storage to heat and cool the building using geothermal power.

- Remote work and home office - life-changing for parents with children, employees with pets or colleagues abroad. Whether Portugal or Brandenburg - anyone can work from home with us
- Employment of employees who have few or even no opportunities on the primary labour market. Anyone can make a career with us
- We deliberately opt for a high proportion of women and fair wages for all
- Flexibility in the office and flexible working time models. We offer our employees individual shift patterns and a customised number of hours. Whether full-time, part-time or something in between - everyone has the opportunity to express their own needs. When we are not working from home and are in the office, we are also absolutely flexible here with dogs - so we always have a small office dog pack around us :)
As you have probably already realised, we attach great importance to doing our best in terms of people and the environment. Our priorities naturally also include satisfied employees.
We achieve this through flat hierarchies, good accessibility across all instances and opportunities for further development. We always give our team members the chance to grow and develop together with us. The option to make the best use of their respective skills is a matter of course for us.
- Utilising our own energy: Good weather doesn't just put you in a good mood - we take advantage of this opportunity and top up the energy storage of our solar panels. After all, why use finite energy sources when our office can also be powered by renewable energy?
- We save money: as in any company, we meet regularly to keep up to date and network with each other. As our employees are spread all over Germany and some of them live abroad, this is particularly important. However, we also make a point of not extending our travelling times unnecessarily. That's why most meetings take place online, and we always travel by train for the few face-to-face meetings - thus avoiding unnecessary car journeys as far as possible
- Turning two into one: Having started with two camps, we quickly decided to merge them. This saves us having to transfer from one warehouse to the other to consolidate orders and drive unnecessary kilometres every day. What happened to the empty warehouse? We have set up our studio there and no longer have to drive our material to a third location.
- Marketing flyers, but balanced: We endeavour to do without paper and advertising in our packages - but we can't do completely without printed products and paper. That's why we invest in printing that offsets the resultingCO2 emissions. For every flyer order, a separate portion goes to certified climate projects. We also choose paper types that come from sustainable forestry and are PEFC-certified.
