ProTip

Determine absorbency

Check the absorbency of the substrate with a few splashes of water. If these are absorbed very quickly or dry immediately, the wall is highly absorbent and a primer such as To Prime Walls should be applied. Lime plasters, fresh gypsum plasters, renovation plasters or clay plasters are highly absorbent

Application instructions

Instructions

  1. Masking (optional) & cleaning: Remove dust, dirt and loose layers of paint from the substrate. Touch up imperfections with filler. Mask off everything that is not to be painted. Please note that the preparation always differs depending on the project.
  2. Open the can carefully: Carefully remove the clips on the lid with our paint can opener or use a spatula or screwdriver. Bend the clips away from the bottom upwards. If you bend the clips away from the top of the can, they will pop less. Please note that the clips are under tension and hold your hand over them when removing them.
  3. Stir: Stir the chalk paint carefully.
  4. Pour the chalk varnish into the paint tray: Pour a little into the paint tray. Do not work directly out of the can to keep the can contents clean.
  5. Roll: Then wet the roller all around and lightly roll it out in the tray. Make sure that the roller is completely and sufficiently wetted with the paint. It should no longer have any dry patches.
  6. Apply the paint & allow to dry well: Apply the paint generously and evenly. For decorative mouldings and narrow areas, use our small pink brush and work in immediately with the roller. Depending on the colour shade and substrate, several coats may be necessary. Observe the recommended drying time.

FAQ

Is LittlePomp safe for children and pets?

Yes! LittlePomp is toy-safe according to DIN EN 71-3, saliva-proof, antibacterial and VOC free**. It contains no harmful vapours and is therefore perfect for children's rooms, children's furniture and even toys. Pets are also on the safe side with LittlePomp.

Can pregnant women also work with the colour?

Yes, as the paint is solvent-free and virtually odourless, pregnant women can also paint without hesitation - even indoors.

What surfaces is the paint suitable for?

LittlePomp chalk paint can be used on all common wall and ceiling substrates, e.g. plasterboard, concrete, masonry, plaster, wood, wallpaper and even on surfaces that have already been painted.

Is the surface hardwearing?

Yes, it is impact-resistant, very easy to wash off (wet abrasion resistance class 1) and has high UV resistance - ideal for children's room walls that are subject to heavy use.

How high is the opacity?

The paint offers very high opacity (class 1) and in most cases covers with just one coat. However, depending on the colour shade and substrate, several coats may be necessary.

Do I need to prime before painting?

For highly or differently absorbent substrates such as fresh plaster or levelled surfaces, priming with Wall Primer/Deep Primer is recommended. Non-absorbent substrates can usually be painted directly.

How is the colour processed?

The paint is ready to use and can be applied with a brush, roller or sprayer. If necessary, it can be diluted with up to 10 % water.

Is the colour sustainable?

Yes, it is plant-, water- and chalk-based, vegan* and packaged in a recyclable tinplate can. The ingredients also support a healthy indoor climate.
