Is The Functional Wall Paint! wipeable?
For which rooms is The Functional Wall Paint! particularly suitable?
Breathable and vapour permeable: You can use The Functional Wall Paint! in all interior areas. It is ideal for corridors, stairwells, kitchens, children's rooms or all areas where walls are frequently touched or soiled.
On which surfaces can I apply The Functional Wall Paint!
You can use The Functional Wall Paint! on wallpaper, woodchip and plastered walls indoors. It is important that the surface is stable and clean.
Do I need to prime highly absorbent walls before painting?
Yes, we definitely recommend this. Highly or differently absorbent substrates - e.g. fresh plaster, levelled surfaces or typical old building walls - should be prepared with a deep penetration primer (e.g. To Prime Walls) before painting.
The primer equalises the absorbency of the substrate, improves the adhesion of the paint and supports a smooth, even painting result with good coverage.
Can The Functional Wall Paint! be painted over?
Yes, The Functional Wall Paint!can be painted over and is therefore particularly easy to renovate. After complete drying and curing, the painted surface can be easily reworked if necessary. This allows you to remain flexible in the design of your walls in the long term.
How opaque is The Functional Wall Paint! and what does the painting result look like?
The Functional Wall Paint! is highly opaque. With 2 coats of our wall paint, you'll usually achieve a perfect result. Red and yellow tones, as well as bright white, may require an additional coat for an even, colourfast finish.
The Functional Wall Paint! offers a matt finish, yet it's hard-wearing and robust.
How do I use The Functional Wall Paint?
After opening the tin, stir the wall paint thoroughly so that the pigments and binders are evenly distributed. Then pour some of the paint into a paint tray.
Apply The Functional Wall Paint! evenly and generously to the wall with a paint roller or brush. The paint is ready to use and very easy to apply. If needed, you can slightly thin it with up to 5% water.
Allow the first coat to dry for approx. 6 hours. Then apply the second coat. We always recommend two coats, even if the paint provides good coverage with the first application – this allows the full depth of colour to develop and makes the surface particularly even and robust. Red and yellow shades, as well as pure white, often require an additional coat for an even, true-to-colour result.
The paint is touch-dry after about 1 hour, and fully dry and washable after approx. 28 days. Only then does The Functional Wall Paint! reach its maximum durability and become particularly easy to wipe clean.
For highly or unevenly absorbent surfaces (e.g. fresh plaster, filled surfaces, or old building walls), you should prepare the wall beforehand with To Prime Walls. This ensures even absorbency and a smooth painting result.
Tip: During drying breaks, wrap your paint roller, brush, and paint tray airtight in cling film. This keeps them moist and ready to use for the second coat.
Does the surface remain nice and matt even after wiping?
Yes, soiling such as fingerprints, splashes or everyday marks can be easily removed with a damp cloth.
