CosyColours chalk paint: furniture lacquer with that little something extra
Are you looking for paint in a very distinctive colour? Soft and gentle shades that create a really cosy atmosphere. Are you looking for an elegant matt finish with a more rustic effect, just like in an English country home? We have developed the perfect lacquer paint for you.
Our CosyColours chalk paint collection impresses with its beautiful, carefully curated matt lacquer. Each shade has been specially created with great colour sense, making it hard to choose between the different shades. The chalk particles form a unique texture that can only be achieved with chalk paint. There's simply no finer and more elegant finish.
What are the advantages of CosyColours chalk paint lacquer?
CosyColours chalk paint lacquers are not only especially elegant, these paints are also sustainable and environmentally friendly. They are made from high-quality raw materials in Germany and are particularly suitable for furniture painting. Our chalk paints are of course water-based and VOC-free. CosyColours chalk paint does not release any volatile emissions into the environment either during application or drying. It is low odour, making it safe even for people with sensitive skin or allergies to use for indoor furniture painting. Is sustainability just as important to you as it is to us? Find out more about what sustainability means at MP here.
The colours are also really easy to apply. Due to their creamy consistency, they do not drip or spatter and are not prone to 'sagging'. They have high hiding power, so even strong-coloured surfaces can be covered easily.
Where can I use CosyColours chalk paint lacquer?
CosyColours chalk paint lacquer is perfect for upcycling old and new furniture. If you want to achieve an authentic vintage look for your home in a shabby chic style by painting an old piece of furniture, chalk paint is your first choice. The matt finish and elegant colours are reminiscent of times gone by. For DIY projects, you can achieve perfect results really easily with this furniture paint. 2 coats of chalk paint lacquer are usually enough to give furniture a completely new look, but the the CosyColours collection is not only suitable as furniture paint, they are also suitable for a wide range of interior surfaces and materials. For example, stone, metal and plastic surfaces can also be given a beautiful new finish.
How do I use CosyColours chalk lacquer?
Before each coat is applied, your project-piece - whether it is furniture or stone window sills, home accessories such as vases or any other object - must be spotless. All dust, dirt and grime must be completely removed. MissPompadour has the perfect product for this: MissPompadour To Clean. If a piece of furniture has already been treated with wax, the surface will need to be sanded first. Regardless of whether you want to paint wooden surfaces, a metal surface or plastic, laminated surfaces with chalk paints, cleaning is the first, most important step.
If your piece has noticeable stains on the surface, as is often the case with pine wood, you should apply a coat of our To Bond & Block primer before you apply the chalk paint lacquer. You should also prepare materials such as plastic, glass or stone with MissPompadour To Bond & Block so that the paint can adhere well to the smooth surface. If you want to paint metal, we also recommend applying our primer beforehand. Metal which has rusted will need to be sanded down and coated with a rust-inhibitor primer before applying To Bond & Block. Please note that old oak furniture can bleed even after decades. This can leave ugly stains on your beautiful chalk paint finish. Old stains can also bleed during painting and discolour the finish coat. MissPompadour has the solution for all these cases: Paint a thick layer of MissPompadour To Bond & Block Primer before painting with chalk paint.
Then apply the paint in 2 coats. You will achieve an even, slightly rustic-looking finish on all materials such as wooden surfaces, metal, plastic laminate or stone. CosyColours chalk lacquers are stable and durable, but if your piece is subject to higher wear and tear - such as a chair or table - we recommend finishing with a coat of MissPompadour To Seal. This topcoat makes the finish even more impact- and scratch-resistant. If you are more interested in a perfect vintage look, you can give your paint an authentic finish with our furniture wax.
CosyColours chalk paints: buy furniture paint and tools in the MissPompadour Shop
To apply the chalk paints, you need the right tools. You can't do it without a good brush. With the Fine MissPompadour Brush from a German brush manufacturer, you can achieve smooth surfaces without streaks. The bevelled edge of the bristles allows you to apply paint in tight corners and edges. They are quickly cleaned and ready for use again with our special brush soap .
For larger areas, you can use varnish rollers to apply the chalk paint quickly. A paint tray from which the furniture paint can be easily removed is very important. MissPompadour has declared war on plastic here too and offers a fully compostable tray that can be used several times. The paint tray! is also divided so that it can hold several different colours. This means you can always store your brushes in a special brush compartment while you work.
If you have decided to decorate furniture with chalk paint, first order the CosyColours colour card.
